It’s even more absurd now. Not just signs anymore. Every publication, map, newspaper, and handout now has to be reviewed by the DOI before parks can hand them to visitors. Need a park newspaper or shuttle map? Sorry you’re outta luck. Big brother has to review it! Good times.
This is happening at every agency. We have to run any communications to the public (even targeted "blasts") through our Public Affairs office. They really don't have any agenda other than to stop or slow down ongoing government functions.
They also cancelled the official podcast of Glacier NP, Headwaters. It was cancelled because it talked about climate change and was produced and hosted by Park staff even though it publicly funded through donations to the Glacier Park Conservancy.
No signs for nude beaches? Some prude walks in there and gets an eyeful. Then they complain loudly and often...oh, maybe that's part of the plan.
New sign for nude beaches approved by the administration: "Only men 60+ and women under 16 allowed"
Friendly reminder you can still get the facts on Native American land.
