Office salaries are a disgrace now. They're basically minimum pay with extra responsibility versus retail.

My employer does grant raises annually for rising costs - but when recruiting, they advertise at the starting salary and that bothers me. Nobody can subsist independently on £24000 yearly. Particularly in London. 20 years ago I made £20000 in an office role. Just £4000 more in two decades is insulting.
