No layoffs here. But every district around us is. You can credit the aging teachers in our district-people don't leave-and the pitiful pool of people coming in their first year who seem to think they can't get fired even if they don't show up.

Same here in SE Florida. HS principals in my district have been told to expect to lose 10% of the teaching units at each school. That's 16 units at my school, 15 at the neighboring one, and 20 at another nearby school.
