I was stunned after reading this one
“Shell out for my 3000 square feet of flooring for repayment when the house sells.” I don’t understand that there is anybody that could do this and if they did, there would have to be a incredibly solid contract in place before the flooring is provided.

This reads drugged our tweaker
I cannot imagine the shoddy install that will come of this. Installing flooring is labor-intensive and no one will want to do that without at least a partial upfront payment for labor.
I see small claims court in their future.
This will far exceed the approximate $15,000 maximum for small claims.
This more seems like a sketchy deal than choosing beggar, I can see what they are asking for, it's sketchy but I get the logic of it.
There are actual programs in real estate (Curbio is one) that do pre-sale loans for such cases. The problem? They have contracts that are tied to the sale and not shady agreements like this.
I was just thinking this is a real thing to need to improve a house specifically for sale and like a construction loan you might not have all the cash to pay up front. Your solution is the right one. No need for the contractor to finance it.
Yeah, I worked with GCs that will invoice work, and we roll it into the loan estimate. However, they want to see contracts and talk to the title companies to make sure escrow is opened. Also, they will put a mechanical lien on the property if payment doesn't come. Also if th...
Listen I know what this place is worth, it just needs floors. I'm not trying to get bogged down with *terms* and *conditions* and *interest rates*.
“Please do $1000’s of work/buy materials, to MAYBE get paid, IF it sells.” Good lord, at least make it a bit more enticing.
This is when you offer cash back at closing to the buyer for flooring of their choice. Of course, it has to be enough to ACTUALLY buy flooring. Why they aren't do this? Well, they obviously plan on not paying someone.
This reads ‘place a lien on my home to get your money back when I sell it years from now, sucka!’
Comments. Must see the comment section.
800 more contractors, ignoring the deal that she's trying to strike, just asking for business the regular way
I mean as a contractor this deal is kinda mint, offer to do the flooring but put a lien on the house with the condition of sale. House sells and you get your money? Mint, if not you get the house win-win.
You don't just get the house if you put a lien on it. The lien sits there until the house sells and then you get your money.
3000 square feet of flooring and maybe they can get paid when the house sells? Holy shit, who would ever agree to this?
Is this Kouri Richins trying to flip a house without any money????
Sure. But I want security. Give me a first ranking lien on the property via a loan with the principal at 2x the works value at 750 over the cash rate and right to enforce after 90 days.
Hey, whoa, whoa. We don't have to bring all this crazy legalese into this! Can't we just skip all that, for a friend? (Said by someone you met less than an hour ago)
I see a lein in someone's future. Edit:spelling
A contract in this case is not worth anything. They can cut and run quite easily once it sells. You would need to put a contractors's lien on the house before it sells to make sure you get paid. They can have all the contracts they want but all they have to do is sell the hous...
I have so many questions 😭
This doesn’t meet the definition of “choosing beggar” imo
how could it not. he/she doesnt even want to pay for materials. just a pinky promise IF/when the house sells
Excuse me, you own a 3000sq ft house and don’t have money for flooring? Smells like bad money management
Ehh, that part I can understand kind of, went through similar thing (not asking for free labor and flooring lol) but had my fathers house after he suddenly died, had to sell it quick etc. So, not defending post but he might not actually own the house in that sense.
Too funny. How about they go to a credit union and get a flooring loan ?
It'd probably sell as is if they just list it as is and let the buyer choose/finance finishes.
My beautiful huge home but i cant afford $1500 in flooring .peeps be crazy
Humans never fail to amaze me with their audacity 😮💨
I mean they're offering to do a contract for payment with interest once it sells. Probably just ghost you
That's a HAAAARD pass.
No money up front? Wow, who wouldn't take THAT deal!!
What is the upside for the person fronting this flooring and possible labour. Why would anyone even consider this?
That is thousands of dollars worth of flooring. Just sell the house priced to accommodate for the buyer having to put in the flooring. Do they expect someone to give them thousands of dollars worth of flooring and then also install it, "if they can do it well and quickly?"
Yeah, this was in my local community group. B*tch is off her rocker.
Oh please, please do tell us about the comments!
I pulled it from the same group. I was scrolling and couldn’t believe what I read. I thought it was a joke, at first.
Also I'm not too picky about the flooring materials, but laminate, wood, tile, AND/OR carpet!! Lmao
I DO have someone who can do the labor but I prefer YOU, random stranger, do it instead!
I actually understand the idea behind it, but the way they are asking is beyond comprehension. My handyman would do that deal but i've known him for 20 years and even then, he might have a written contract involved
I did this with sliding glass doors that needed to be replaced before my house closed. The real estate company handled everything and they got paid extra at closing. There was slight condensation inside the panes that passed inspection upon purchase but didn’t pass when I sold...
Classic
They need to just paint the floors with sealant and sell it as is.
That brick wall was probably nice before someone painted all over it.
Payment with unspecified interest rate when (if) it sells. What a deal.
That reminds me of the temp job i had at Lennox and they were not paying me any of my paychecks week after week and month after month. Nb i did take care of that nonsense.
This has an episode of judge judy written all over it
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He wants it done well, quick, and free?? Impossible. „We offer three kinds of service here: good, fast, and cheap. But you can only pick up to two at a time, so choose wisely.“
What could possibly go wrong?!

This is not an unusual request. Plenty of contractors work with realtors to prepare homes for sale, and get paid, with interest, out of escrow.
How is this a CB? The person is offering a contract and portion of the sale. Sounds like a business deal to me.
You’re absolutely the kind of person they’re looking for to do the job
