I snapped my rockmelon (cantaloupe) seedling I was going to plant while we had a few days where it's not scorching hot

I grew it from seeds we saved from a rockmelon (cantaloupe) we bought and ate from the shops. Can't believe I snapped it, was growing so well too. :(.

I would wrap the stem in wet paper towel and put that in a plastic bag to reroot. The potted plant may regrow too

This happened yesterday and I put it in the compost. Wish I posted this straight away. I'm new to growing my own food, so any advice is appreciated. Thankyou for the tip, even though it's too late.

What sucks is that I’m too early to scroll through all the cantaloupe jokes

Hey man, I grew a watermelon from seed once with a vine as long as that. First day I took it outside my dog snapped it. I feel your pain.

A lemon seed was potted 6-7 years ago and it’s 8 ft tall now and grew its first flower. I pruned the branches without looking at it well enough and cut the damn flower off. Hasn’t flowered since. This happened months ago and I haven’t let it go. I feel your pain here.

You can just put it back together. Just tape it back together and it will heal. Done it twice with cucumbers.

Get some root growth hormone and you can save this

I don't really have much experience either, but I would have taped it back together (maybe wrapped it in damp paper towel at the break too) and see what happened
