Uber app recording your screenshots.
I can't speak for iOS, but on the Uber Android app a message appears at the bottom of your screen when you seize a screenshot. "Uber Driver detected this screenshot". They may make use of it against you, recently saying.

Uber are the ones who ask for screenshots when you need support. So what's the expectation here? Don't take screenshots, but if something goes wrong, you better have that screenshot you couldn't take?
The Uber also removes surge pay when you arrive in the area of the surge, they will intentionally wait till your close and take the surge away
It’s not saying don’t take screenshots. It just letting you know the app is where it was taken
They never say not to take screenshots, that little dialogue pop up is displayed by Android, not by Uber.
I screenshot offers when I think uber may pay lower after the fact. As I’ve suspected them of doing that once in a while, but any screenshotted offer pays the same. Maybe it warns them not to screw around on those. Or maybe that’s my tinfoil hat being too tight again.
Nope you’re on the money
Both are possible. Try having a dash cam pointed at your screen to recordthe screenfrom outside the phone. They shouldn't be able to detect that, unless the app has camera access the they could attempt to detect the dash cam from the phone camera.
Huh, never saw that before. Get a 2nd phone to take pics of the Uber phone lol!
I screenshot every single ride offer i recieve, if i forgot to screenshot ill cancel the ride. Ive had people add stops to the ride which have reduced my pay, even after arguing with uber that hasnt been fixed but i still keep the proof for that one day when justice will be se...
Interesting. I take screenshots of cool places I want to hit back for photography
To clarify, the message pops up when in the app and screenshot the app screen
“I have my accessibility settings adjusted where a double tap in the screen will initiate a screenshot; it wasn’t intentional… this time or the other 1000x”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This on iOS. On iOS devices, you can take a screenshot by using the **double-tap feature** on the back of your device, but this needs to be set up first. Here’s how to enable it and use it: ## How to Enable Double Tap for Screenshots ### Step 1: Open Settings - Go to the *...
Haven’t seen this yet on iOS also where is this maybe it’s a local thing or android change?
I always screenshot rides where the rider doesn't show up. Too many times (well, virtually every time) Uber will claim I didn't wait long enough to get a no-show fee, even though the app displays the message "eligible for cancelation fee".
I’ve never had this problem.
Looks like we all need to carry secondary recording devices to capture all the BS now..
I don't know. When they ask for a selfie for verification I always include my middle finger as well.
What the helly
All gig apps track your activity. Do you think it's just by chance that you will have a dead period on apps and then as soon as one sends you a offer the rest do as well?😂 We are talking about the same company that was able to ghost ban government officials on the app back in...
Too hard to take individual screenshots and drive - my screen capture app records the whole session - screenshots, directions, texts from riders, every call I've ever made to the help desk, every call from a rider etc. Everything.
Same, record everything, inside, outside, and app.

Mine doesn't tell me that🤷🏻♂️
I’m also guessing, people are posting screenshot, that show specific number, in here. This may cause to identify the accounts are belonging to who.
I screenshot and screen record all the bull shit they do to us everyday. I’m saving them for the class action lawsuit that is my retirement.
I was screen recording a timer that stopped on a scheduled ride the other day and the next one never paused, I assume because it saw me screen recording the previous scheduled ride and that one.
Also records voice and video without permissions. Which may 7/24 even if you delete the app.
In your phone's permissions settings per app, limit Uber and Uber Driver to location and location only. For things like mic access, make it ask permission.
Newspapers getting full info this week they past data on to several companys for payments
Uber started doing this because their app is crap and when when it crashes ,support doesn't understand so it's to fix bugs in real time. This happened to me about a year ago the app thought I was in another country even though I have never been to another country and they ins...
