This sturdy hunk of road debris jumped up and blew out the coolant tank. Now enjoying a lovely morning on the side of the interstate.

That's the dolly handle off of the landing gear on an 18 wheeler. That's unfortunate.
Unfortunate but better it took out a cooling system than someone's life through a windshield.
It’s not much consolation to OP, but the driver of the semi might be posting here too when he needs to drop the trailer and that handle is missing.
Definately didn't blow out the coolant tank. Took out a hose or the rad. Tanks up high.
That looks reddish. Coolant should be fluorescent green. That looks a lot more like power steering fluid.
It was the radiator
