What’s the point of an agreement if one party can cancel it at any given time? Seems unfair.
Govt has been doing this since the day they made treaties with the native americans... goes to show how much of our system simply operates on everyone acting in good faith, and it has no safety mechanisms if someone decides they no longer want to do that.
Government contracts are all basically this way. They have unequal bargaining positions.
that is the point cancel it make them not want to come to work everyday, make them hate their jobs so they quit, then we can hire contractors at 2x the price and I make millions... wait was that part out loud...
Nobody at EPA even batted an eye at this. It felt like “oh yeah, our CBA got terminated… so anyways” meanwhile, I’m devastated. NTEU has always made EPA (at least at my office) a wonderful place to work and fought hard for all of us.

I'll believe it when I see telework back. AFGE is weak and spends more of our money on conferences at fun locations than it does helping the federal employees it's supposed to represent. Got called out by local union reps and those reps got fired for calling out borderline ...

Not SSA saying they strongly disagree and intend to keep violating the contract. Unethical behavior to pretend you can’t read just because you don’t like the terms and know nobody can stop you from just doing what you want.
What is interesting is that the main focus seems to be the field office and phones. There are so many departments where there is no front facing customer.. just a computer and a keyboard, where the work can be tracked. 2/3 of my departments have a RA and work full time from ...
My favorite part of the “temporary telework suspension” was when they manually deleted everyone’s telework agreement paperwork. And then if you even wanted to ask for episodic telework you had to file again.
I just transferred to a BU position (AFGE) in a non SSA agency. I was wondering how this will impact me but then realized this will likely get turned over on appeal.
