Thanks for the reminder. Looks like my local airport is one of just a few that doesn’t use TSA.
Go to any local airport and you are not likely to see TSA. It's like 9/11 never happened.
First paycheck that my employer misses I am out the door. I dont care about the reasons why. IOUs dont pay my bills (and with government furloughs it becomes a increasing concern that backpay will not be offered each and every time this happens). No pay, no work.
As a Canadian I am gobsmacked that a government could get to a point where they are not paying their employees, and somehow it seems to be just regarded as a function of the system. We ran it through the government machine and this is the output. So let's do that. Then we wil...
edit: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” To be clear; I will vote for a Democrat over a Republican because while the latter reliably does some really evil shit, the former does nothing which unfortunately is the only good option...
I used to work for the federal government. Told my supervisors, even during my probationary year that if we get shutdown, I'm not coming into work. I quit after two years (because it was the 3rd biggest joke of an agency in the entire federal workforce and it wasn't even worth...
I cannot blame them. It is absolutely ridiculous to think that anyone can work long term with no pay. They realky don't have a choice.
Rich people dont think that way. For them, money is like water, its just always there when they need some. They simply dont understand not having money for food.
Hegseth spent tens of millions on steak and lobster last month
Not only work, but commute. Airports generally are not near residents. And even employee parking sometimes cots.
Well yeah - they're not being paid.
I guess it made sense at the time spending that much money on those ridiculous commercials at the time lol... /s obviously
The timing seems terribly suspicious… Start a new war in the middle east, bomb schools full of children, then cripple any semblance of effectiveness of the security theater program (set up in the wake of the greatest act of terror ever perpetrated against the American people)...
No pay for what, twice in 4 months? I’d look to quit, too. All because Trump wants his own SS goon squad.
His SS goons are funded for a few years already thanks to the BBB. He wants the SAVE Act so he can destroy our elections and remain in power indefinitely.
Trump's insistence on not following the Constitution is dangerous to all of us.
But the constitution has mechanism of removing him. We the voters got soft and made it this way.
I came close to getting a job at the TSA for a local airport. It was a government job, which meant good benefits. I'm glad I didn't now. Especially since I have one major rule for my work ethic: "I don't work for free."
My friend did it to pay his way through dental school. It was a good deal for him. This was years before the ooompa loompa got his paws on it.
They haven’t been much but a nuisance for the last 25 years anyway. Since they don’t wanna pay em, disband em.
But but but Iranian Sleeper cells
It was safety theater to begin with
The entire DHS was a mistake and has done nothing but waste our money and bolster the police state.
step 2 of trumps plan to cause an attack on US soil so he can try to suspend elections.
According to my tsa agent friend, a lot are angry because they never actually received that bonus from last time that noem did the whole photo op for. Surprise surprise
Correct. They lied, as is typical of Trump's administration.
Yeah I was on vacation and got this text yesterday: Due to the ongoing United States partial Government shutdown, we are seeing longer than usual wait times at the San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) airport TSA security checkpoint. Please arrive 4 hours prior to your departure time.
Friend said this happened to her hubby in Houston yesterday.
A week earlier the people in r/denver were more upset they closed the precheck fast lanes than the fact that these people weren't being paid. I point out the sub because that is a fairly pro-human and worker rights city. I imagine in more baseline or even pro-corporate area...
And nothing of value was lost.
We should honestly just get rid of the TSA and have normal security like every other nation in the world. Time and time again it has been proven TSA is ineffective and mostly just security theater. Waste of goverment resources.
Just about every country has its own version of TSA. Believe it or not, the local airport boards don't want to be responsible for their security or the costs involved, which is why so many are against privatization. Also most airlines refuse to fly to airports without the pre...

I see a Desi Arnaz meme, I upvote.
TSA isn't real anyway. I remember a world before 9/11 and every time I see the TSA... without risk of getting banned for dehumanizing them, it's a stark reminder of that awful event... and honestly, they shouldn't be there. So yeah, everyone over 35 probably doesn't like you...
Useless agency anyway. Never needed them, just another lost freedom to the republican party police state.
And just when ICE was starting to make them only the second-most hated useless bunch of unqualified annoying public-purse-paid asswipes.
My tin hat theory is that he's hopiny nefarious groups take advantage of this and give him his reason to cancel the midterms
Nobody wants to work for free anymore
MAGA Make Airports Great Again (By Defunding TSA)
My mind is split between fuck TSA and anyone willingly joining them, and antiwork.
Solidarity. Walk out until things change.
All because Republicans refuse to fund the rest of DHS without ICE and CBP
Sounds like a great hook, line, and sinker for any one of those Iranian sleeper cells
I don’t blame them. They get treated like dog shit by the government.
Maybe its time to end the security theater at airports. The TSA fails to catch 95% of undercover tests attempting to smuggle in weapons, and since airlines now require the cockpit doors to be locked would be hijackers can no longer take control of airplanes.
Feel free to get rid of all of them.

How many went and joined ICE because they didn't think they were being hated enough?
Likely some of the first jobs to be replaced by robots In my opinion.
What a great time to start a war, especially with the World Cup coming up. 🙄
Wow just in time to counter sleeper cells🙄
F*** around and find out. Pulling TSA officers to do ICE work has consequences. Sorry it’s hard to go on spring break, but many people can’t afford air travel, and hitting those who have TSA, is acceptable.
This is happening again?
I heard some fat frog looking fuck with a chainsaw and some kid named Smooth Taint may have caused this.
TSA is a job that could be done by AI
All that training? Poof. Gone. Like tears in rain.
waaaa if all tsa stopped going to work our airlines would be just as safe. what a useless organization
If you a terrorist, all you need to do is pay a $45 dollar fee and you are allowed to by-pass the TSA checkpoint.
