Train cancelled, you can employ the other trains but they're standing room only. Wish for a seat? Thats a 30 quid upgrade to sit in the empty premium carriages

Then as soon as you stump up the money for First, they open it to everyone and then you’re surrounded by the proles again.

At this point surely you'd get a refund as you're not receiving the service you paid for right, right?

Just go sit in the Premium section without paying. If it's that packed, you almost certainly won't see a ticket inspector.

Love it when I book 1st class to get on with work and it ends up rammed and I can't. This is why I dont travel Scotrail if it can be avoided 😆

This is my reasoning. I sit at either the very front or very back of the train. If it’s packed enough to be standard room only, they’re not making their way through. So I’ll sit in 1st class thanks.

Just sit in the premium seats that aren’t reserved. They wont kick you out if its standing room only they normally move people in there

How long is the journey? If it's anything more than 30 mins, id pay the extra to sit down.

If your train was cancelled you should be getting a ticket refund for the delay. So spend that money on the upgrade instead. I think £30 would get me about 20 minutes of train ride. If it's that short just deal with it. If it's longer, then you're getting a ride in first cla...

>If your train was cancelled you should be getting a ticket refund for the delay. So spend that money on the upgrade instead. Yes, but by getting a refund don't you also lose the "right" to use other trains?

Now pretend you’re disabled and use a wheelchair and are on a fixed income and can’t afford the upgrade but people have put their luggage, a bicycle, and themselves in the space reserved for wheelchairs and the conductors won’t put the ramp down to even let you board because t...
