Did somebody lower my truck? 1995 F150.
I doubt this came from the factory.

Dudes that’s a sign post chunk
It does look like it is a piece of a sign post
Unistrut at best
Holes are too large.
That looks like a yes. Also, pleeeeease tell me the other end of that spring has a shackle.
Guess I don’t know what a leaf spring shackle is or where it’s supposed to go. But I don’t see one in the pic based off of the google images for leaf spring shackle. Why do I need it?
Looks like they made a shackle out of that square tubing.
taht looks like the rear of the truck so that \*is\* the shackle fix is easy, get a correct pair of shackles and install.
It’s very common on these trucks for the spring hangers and shackles to Russ in half and fail. They probably just replaced it with whatever they could get, Unfortunately, it looks like they bolted the shackle in flipped around backwards, and could only use the highest posit...
You done been shackled. Many contractors leveled these trucks to haul things like paint and stuff. It's terrible to see since I've always liked how they jacked the back up on old models. Air shocks can compensate for the stance but carying a heavy load will strain your leaf ...
Yes someone lowered and not properly. They did a hack job using something looking like uni-strut (stuff that's used to hang heavy HVAC equipment or cast iron roof drain pipe from steel trusses). If you want to keep the approximate ride height just buy a pair of lowering shac...
It’s not, it’s a generic parts store, multi vehicle shackle with several positions depending on what you’re driving. It’s installed backwards, it should be flipped around the other way so you can use the other lower hole positions Though it does look like somebody welded e...
That looks a tad bit scary. Get the proper shackles.
Someone just went cheap on replacing spring shackles
Thanks for posting on /r/MechanicAdvice! This is just a reminder to review the [rules](https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicAdvice/about/rules/). Rremember to please post the year/make/model of the vehicle you are working on. **If this post is about bodywork, accident damage, pai...
A truck came into my shop that had that kind of hack job lowering done, the mutilated shackles were rubbing a hole in the bed... he wanted an inspection. It didn't get one...
The big question is. What else have they done to that truck.
Rebuild with Rustolium incoming!
Looks like drop shackles and they put it in backwards. It also looks like they broke them and repaired them too lol
Yea that’s not factory. So to answer your question yes
Holy shit is that kindorf?!
It looks hand made. That said, that’s pretty much how it was designed from the factory. They probably had more metal than money and did what they did because the original rusted and broke.
Homemade spring shackles, thats a new one on me.
Rare home Depot kit
I'm going to assume the previous owner was A; a communist, and B; of Spanish descent.
