Was given a security tag with my gift from Disneyland
I promise I didn't steal it. I don't even have the means to fly to Florida to steal a bag. 😠I went to Burlington in hopes they could remove it and security immediately approached me as if I stole it. They believed me after insisting it was a gift and they realized they don't even carry security tags similar to that. They stated it was against policy and they didn't have the tools to remove it anyway. I'm scared to go anywhere else. Aid.

Use pliers / grips to crush the dome to the extent you can remove it and create an opening. There’ll be a metal retaining object along with a few ball bearings/spring you can then tip out which releases the device. These are frequently left on whisky bottles that come in tins/...
Cut off the tip of the dome part and the spring will fall out. I used a pair of side cuters. I was going to go full gorilla and tear that out but glad I tried this first.
Super strong neodymium magnet
You can cut the end off and pull the spring out. Tie a bag around the gift and do it outside if youre worried about dye but these.ones usually don't contain.
A strong magnet will release it without damaging it or the clothing .. You can reuse it for someone you dislike .. clip it on their clothes or bag and watch the fun when they trigger alarms ..
This happened to me but luckily it was from a local store and I had the receipt. They were a little bit suspicious at first but I think they checked the inventory on the computer and they weren’t missing any of that item. I even got a gift card for the incovenience.
Get a pair of grips or a vice and crush that dome. Once you destroy that the collar that holds the pin will come loose and it will come out.

According to the price tag, it was 48 dollars but was marked down to 39. It's a small bookbag style bag. It's really cute. I've been sick for the past few days, so I haven't got a chance to fix the security tag problem yet.

YouTube it. They have ways to release all of the security tags. I’ve used the plastic bag method at least 8 times. Nothing chaps my ass more than getting home and realizing the high 17 yr old forgot to remove the tags.

You can melt the round part until its breakable to release the magnet. Happened to me once. And it worked
Use a lighter to melt the dome part and then you can use needle nose pliers to take it apart.

Agree it doesn't look like an ink tag. You can probably just smash it.
When that happened to me, I was too lazy to go back to the store to get them to remove it. I used a lighter and burned the top off of circular part.

Update: Security tag is still attached, unfortunately. I've been sick these past few days. When I have the strength, I plan on either getting a magnet or breaking it off.

That black strap is what connects the main bookbag strap to the bag. Trust me I would have cut it by now if it was that simple. Edit: it's on the main part of the strap, actually.
You can use a condom to get it off !
