Why won’t my ignition coil stay in area??

2001 Camry 4cyl. Not ever had an engine issue and this all of a sudden happened. The vehicle was jerking on the freeway and the verify engine light started flashing which indicated a misfire. This ignition coil is extremely loose compared to the rest. Any support?

Looks like loose spark plug and leaking spark plug tube seal.

I’m in the house now, I ended up driving it the rest of the way, but I did notice oil. It’s weird because I got the valve cover gasket replaced 11 months ago as well

On many 4 cyl Nissans the spark plug tube seals are part of the whole valve cover and replacing the valve cover gaskets won't actually fix oil leaking into the spark plugs, maybe it's the same with Toyotas?

Either the spark plug is loose, or the sealing washer on the spark plug is bad and leaking compression gas causing it to pop the wire out

1. The oil pouring out indicates your upper spark plug tube seal has failed. 2. That oil has deteriorated the rubber boot for your spark plug wire, which are already very prone to separation in the 5sfe unless they’re Denso brand (OEM). NGK is good too. But don’t buy any oth...

The oil stains around that should be a dead giveaway that there’s something wrong with the plug.

One thing I learned the hard way is never touch the wire on an ignition coil

And make sure the spark plug is grounded before testing for spark.

Go ahead and try and remove that spark plug for me. Might want to do it somewhere it's convenient to tow from. Are you familiar with spark plug extractors?

Valve cover gasket is leaking, There should not be any oil in the tubes themselves! Valve cover needs to be removed and every spark plug ring gasket on the spark plug tubes replaced and Ring gasket replaced along the length of the valve cover! A Tip for this is to back butter ...

Valve cover needs to come off, tube unscrewed from the head, threads degreased, then fresh RTV/FIPG applied before reassembly. Had a similar thing happen on my 5S-FE People are saying spark plug seal, but this engine is known to eventually leak from the bottom of the spark pl...

Because the plug is either loose/been cross- threaded or it has been overtightened and pulled the threads out of the head. Compression pressure is blowing the lead out Don't run it like that, there are a while handful of reasons its a terrible idea... The oil is because th...

There is oil coming from the ignition coil. Check your spark plug as its likely loosened allowing oil to shoot through during the compression stroke. Have you/anyone done anything to the spark plugs recently? Edit: Poor wording. Oil is coming through the gasket and the comp...
