Serious question: Might you ring in a wellness check on this house?
Must I call in a wellness inspect on this house i delivered to? Should I inform my DSP about it? It looks to be months worth of packages sitting outside. I delivered a cutlery set there today, there was already the same set that was sitting outside and it looked similar to it had been there for a while unopened. There was a delivery picture in the flex app and I believe most of the packages recently became visible once the snow melted off them.

Yeah I would
They can still use the computer
The sad part is that no one has called yet , you can barely get in and out of the home. Person is probably dead or mentally ill and withering away.
I'm wondering if the pin is in the wrong place and most drivers are delivering to pin instead of address.... and the pin is a vacant house for some time.... and occasionally they get a driver that will deliver to correct place so they keep getting placing orders but also have ...
Well, they keep buying more stuff, so i assume they're physically healthy. However, i think it clear that they're not mentally healthy if they just leave it all outside and buy more. Not sure who you call for that.. but at least handing the issue over to the police lets them...
I don’t understand the first sentence, strange logic
But they may have most of this on subscription which is delivered to them automatically.
How does ordering things online mean you are physically healthy? Is physically healthy just not dead?
Um yeah those people are definitely dead or not home. Wtf. In my neighborhood tweakers would have already stolen all of that.
Sounds like a nice neighborhood. To move out of.
Depends where you are. Meanwhile I was testing a hobby project I put in a plastic box (to keep dry) at the street and within an hour the police were there because people called it in as suspicious. All depends where you are I guess.
That’s what I was thinking. I once saw the Amazon dude pull up to my house, by the time I got down the stairs and opened the fucking door, my package was GONE. LESS THEN A DAMN MINUTE.
Id just take this pic and send it to dispatch along with the address and let them deal with it. They probably wouldnt care tho
They’d send a rescue and accuse you of being behind pace because you stopped to do anything but deliver a package.
Oh definitely
Yeah I'm letting dispatch know I'm calling 911 to check on this person if they don't answer me when i knock on the door
Don't call "911" Call the non-emergency line.
I’m a paramedic. In houses that look like that I’ve found dead people, I’ve found live people who are perfectly fine apart from living in literal squalor, and everything in between. I cannot tell you what your supervisors or company would say. But I can guarantee you that th...
Where is this neighborhood? Little package theft, neighbors blind to whatever the fuck your front lawn looks like?
It’s on a pretty busy road with a lot of through traffic. I’m assuming nobody has noticed because everyone is just passing by in their car at 40mph and there has been snow covering everything . No idea how the neighbors haven’t said anything though!
Just deliver the dildo bro
A lot of these packages look destroyed and water logged, meaning they have been outside for an extended period of time. This is either someone having packages delivered to the wrong vacant home or someone extremely mentally ill/hoarder. I would definitely call into the police ...
Yes.
Update?
Porch pirates wet dream 😂
wouldn't be surprised if it's an empty house being used for scam deliveries
What’s the scam in this kind of situation?
Oof that’s bad, yeah I might.
Absolutely
Call 911 and ask them to look into it
911 is for emergencies.. this looks like it's been going on for months, so probably doesn't qualify. Instead, i'd call 311, which is for city services/police non-emergency. This is the number you use for things like noise complaints, potholes, graffiti, animal services, etc.
The front door isn’t covered, that’s just hoarding.
Too late, they’re dead already.
Yes
I would have after a fraction of that.
The window to the right appears open. Did you smell anything? I do not see any insect activity from this, and the yard does not appear super unkempt.
They did say the snow just melted so it visibly killed the grass
okay so my dad does junk removal and he always had this guy who would just have a shit ton of brand new boxes and what not in his driveway scattered and he’d need to get it all hauled away..i’m talking BRAND new shit. it was consistent too, we still never found out what was up...
Dude wtf lol
If that dates on those are exactly weeks/months apart yes because they probably have an auto re-order. You never know you could be saving an old persons life with a wellness call.
Not to be creepy at all, but what are the chances that this is in Springfield, Missouri?
It’s somewhere in the Midwest that’s for sure
Hey that’s a neighborhood to move into. No crime at all.
That’s worrying. I would be concerned. Call your local PD’s non emergency line and report it. At least you know you did your due diligence.
Yes. You would be doing the right thing. No matter what, the right thing is our way of showing you are a good person
%100 call for a checkup. Would say trust your gut and do it soon too. Insane nobody else has called yet.
I’d love to know if anything came of this, worried
i'd definitely call one in
A thousand times yes.
I would. I’m surprised the mailman hasn’t
100% yes. Nothing to lose. If it's a hoarding issues, then at least someone checked.
I'm surprised to see how many comments would "call 911" to try to help someone who clearly is able to keep ordering things, but then say that you should mind your business when you see a dog chained without adequate shelter or food.. or worse.
Yes
Yes
Yes, notify them immediately
YES, YES I WOULD!!
Absolutely!
It depends. I'd knock first to see if someone answers. Some people order a lot of stuff or they run some kind of package forwarding business from home, delivered to some houses who do that. Pulled up one day and added my fifteen or so overflow to the mountain of shit Fed Ex or...
I would, it's really all you can do. You can report it to your employer, but judging by what I read in this sub, yours is very likely to not give two shits about it. Doesn't hurt to send an email or report online during your next lunch break or when you get home. Just a quick ...
Yeah call for a wellness check for sure. They might have died and this might be a family member sending them things to help them, not knowing they passed. Call the police If they passed, they will notify next of kin. Good looking out!!
Inform your place of work first, then inform the authorities. Cover your ass from lawsuits. Get everything in writing and go about your business.
Update?
They could have subscribed to a bunch of orders that come at set intervals and have been dead for a long time
The weird part is there is a clear path into the house just big enough to walk through. But still wellness checks can’t hurt. I used to drive for flex in Houston and I delivered to one house that looked like this it was weird
I had a house like this when I worked for ground. Lady hated her kids and wanted to die broke so they wouldn’t get anything. Neglected the house till it got condemned and blew everything she owned on a steady stream of junk off the internet. After she was kicked out and the ho...
Yo, what? **Yes report this asap**. See something say something
Maybe they stole it all and have no more room inside. So yes, call either way lol
Nah, certainly this time theyre gonna come check the mail.
Why wouldn't you??
I would call 911 and inform them what's going on there. Something is not right. Maybe ask a neighbor, they should know something about that living situation. It's definitely weird af.
It’s like “Would you call the fire department if you saw a house ablaze and nobody attending to it?” Yes. 100%.
I’d refuse delivery and leave a “sorry we missed you” note on the door to call/come to collect. And also call in for a wellness check
Is it also possible to be fraudulent situation? Are there any scams that allows for claims of item not received or items damaged for credit bonuses or some crap?
Could they be returns?
Ya that looks crazy
Please call in a wellness check.
Where's the porch pirates when you actually need em'
Which place is this in US?
Path is covered, looks like no one in/out (that door) in a while Yeah, Id report it
If I saw this, I would assume they are cleaning out the inside of the house. Putting stuff outside. It’s hard to tell if those packages are from Amazon, but I would probably check a few dates on them out of curiosity.
I would call code on that bode
I’d call the fire department. That’s a fire safety risk
No leave the guy alone. Fuck people now days keep your nose in your own shit
It hurts nobody to call for a wellness check and find out they didnt need one. Think of how you’d want someone to respond if you needed help or a wellness check and someone second guessed if they should call. Even if for just your own peace of mind, call it in. This doesn’t l...
Definitely.
My grandmother was a hoarder and would do the same thing as this. But a wellness check wouldnt hurt.
Yes. Because this is not a normal sight. Edit to add: Am not a damn delivery driver but still. That's not normal.
You don’t need permission to help people, and these people clearly need help. Make the call.
Jesus, I’m amazed they are still there. In my city the skeet’s would have just filled up a truck with all this stuff already. 😭
Might be a hoarder, might be a dead buddy
Thank You for your submission to r/AmazonDSPDrivers! Please keep the comment section clean and respectful. **If you need to report a concern about your DSP, head to the Ethics Hotline** https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/65221/index.html **Looking to get som...
I would assume neighbors that know them better would have already called, did you knock?
How has no neighbor already done this?
I would call the sanitation department.
Why? The door can still open a quarter of the way! Hate to see the kitchen in that place.
I wouldn’t, personally.
the homeowner could be deceased in the house or something, ignorant people like you are why bodies lay for weeks.
No
They're getting ready for a yard sale
Just dump and go
I'd take first the free gifts !
You said you delivered a cutlery set that they already had the same one sitting there for a while. I wonder if they have their account set up to an old/incorrect address. And they are sitting at a different home wondering why none of their packages are showing up lol
You would be surprised how common this is. Some doors become walls for months at a time.
This is where all the missing packages from all the people locally are at. Yeah she’s probably still purple and glittery
Oh they’re dead forsure
After I took half that stuff, yes
@karmabot
Yes
Yeah, call the local PD for a wellfare check. Theyre prob alive since they are still getting packages but they need some help. That’s the first step to getting them that help
I wouldnt , the neighbors have noticed at this point, its not my business. As long as i dont smell something rotting id just go about my day.
Do they? Outside a tv show....not sure
I felt like that at one house in the rural area too cause wtf
Yes, though it’s probably an abandoned property people are using stolen credit cards to test.
Have had these same thoughts just wouldn’t wanna be the guy to cause a problem if I’m wrong.
not in my job description
R.i.p.
That’s where my cutlery set ended up…. Wait…. Is that my folding table I ordered last year?
Yes
Thats just a hoarder doing hoarder things....
Yeah this is beyond concerning, those boxes Next to the garage are bleached by the sun they've been there a long time or at least a season. A wellness check should have been called like weeks ago. I always wonder in cases like this How more packages keep getting ordered lik...
Definitely
I’m surprised the town allows that. Something is definitely wrong!
Yea thats weird af. I would definetly call local PD non emergency number for a welfare check.
I’d call in the demo crew
Are you getting paid any extra?
No. Especially if it's rural. I don't believe in calling the police on people for stupid shit. No one's dead in there and our police aren't trained to deal with mental health issues.
Not my problem, I’m taking picture and I’m gone to my next stop 🤑
Is it possible this is an abandoned house and sellers are just using the address to ship items for review farming? I’m almost positive I watched a video about it, how in order the leave a “valid” review there has to be proof of delivery, so they ship it to a random house.
Wow.. I delivered to a house like this in Seattle.. it looked like they just opened the door and tossed their trash out.
Sometimes I think Amazon is sending packages to abandoned houses in some sort of stock price scam
Free mystery boxes!
Ive actually done it before, packages from the front door to the mailbox, turns out they were dead inside.
Ima be honest though, how’s that stuff not stolen yet? Are porch pirates driving up and just picking the best options?
I’ve delivered to worse that’s nothing but yes that or try to be there at a time the house owners are there and ask if there doing ok, most are most are just struggling in life and need to know that someone there for them
Yes. As in adult CPS.
I would inform your DSP and do a wellness check
What in tarnation
The urge to go back to the address on my day off and check out the house 🫨
You need to call the city and report that ish…
Yes
That’s nothing. I have a delivery that’s INSANE!
I would. Call if at all possible anonymously.
A house on my route was no where bear as bad, and it ended up having like 200 rats inside
I would if I were you, just in case. It looks like some of the packages that are closest to the door show some wear/weathering, so they could have been there a long time, and this person may not have stepped outside in a while. It could be inferred that someone might be having...
Eeeewwwww
Yeah... I'd call for a wellness check for this house. Imagine what it looks like on the inside. Probably a severe hoarding situation going on.
100 percent call it in
If I was their mail man, I’d absolutely have called in a welfare check
Man I need to know how this turns out.
No.
Nah they’ll be home to grab it later lol
I wonder if this is a couple who recently got married and are on an extended honeymoon and these are their registry items?
Yes to calling in a welfare check.
Where there bugs on the windows?
Yes. And looks like the typical hoarder. A lot of them get in their head that “tomorrow” they are going to start cleaning and fixing up the house. That’s why you are a lot of home improvement stuff, trash bags, new sheets and silverware, etc.
That’s crazy no one has taken these packages. The local porch pirates by me would find this to be gold. Are all the packages under the same name? Maybe it’s apart of a scam thing, they send it to a vacant house, mark as lost or stolen and get their “money” back however they o...
100% yes
Omg ya like two months ago
Id think someone died or someone stole cards and was using a vacant house as the collection address or something.
No but I'd start calling the dept of health and or department of environmental protection because trash everywhere is a health issue for everyone..
I would say there's a hoarder living there. Many places I deliver to have been similar to this. I once delivered to this house that had stacks of boxes at the front door and a lot more on the side of the porch. And I delivered 7 packages at the same time. It was a lady who ope...
Fire Marshall
Nope do your job and move on
Hand truck is on the wrong side of the door.
Yes, tons of unopened packages. Someone isn’t well inside or it’s abandoned. :(
Update ?
Unless they get dozens of packages daily, I think this person is like several months past a wellness check. Definitely need it
Yeah please call
,
That’s just a weeks worth of shopping for me 🤣
The amount of houses I see everyday like this. Doesn’t even shock me anymore tbh, just makes me sad.
What's baffling is that other people would have had to deliver to that house dozens, maybe a 100 times, and none of them had the decency to call it in
Yes
Yes
I'm not even subbed to this subreddit but yes , definitely.
Hoarders.
Where this at I’ll go check /s
This looks like a pretty typical hoarding situation, unfortunately. The police won’t do anything other than verify the person is alive. No laws have been broken. They may deem the house unsafe/unlivable and place occupancy restrictions or even condemn it, though usually that...
Don't open, dead inside
They obviously don’t care about their packages. Just take a few
1/8 of the amount of packages seen here
Wait you say you delivered a cutlery set, can drivers see what is inside the package or was it just not in a package
I will be calling the local non emergency PD and will post an update ASAP!
So many people lige like this I just assune theyre gross. Above my pay grade.
Yeah maybe like 10 packages ago lol
so we gonna post this bullshit every 3 weeks?
Imagine what it looks like on the inside.
Having Amazon subscription on and die in the house. This looks scary
Damn this is so sad yes call for a check you are a good person to ask and think of that
Hell nah my job is to deliver the packages that’s it 😂
NO ONE IS DEAD THATS FOR SURE ! SOMEONE HAS MONEY TO ORDER ALL CRAP ! I CAN NOT IMAGINE WHAT THIS HOUSE LOOKS LIKE INSIDE
I would lowkey mark the package delivered and take it home 😂
