Post incident. Protected the area beneath the bracket but a teeny spatter fell on the window. That's all it took, one teeny tiny splatter. FML

Really curious, but how does that even happen? The fact that you proactively disconnected it initially suggests that it is a common failure mode, but how does the current get to flow through the heater element?
