Average 15$ tip order destination.

Why is it that those in gated communities (Dallas area so lots of major cash here) At no point Tip, but when I gotta go out to the honky tonk’s my wallet gets FILLED faster than I can put down their groceries.

Because people at the "bottom" know the struggle. Most people with tons of money have never wanted for basic needs and don't know what we go through

I live in an area that *many* pro athletes have homes and last week I got to deliver to a house I’d been admiring since I saw it a year ago easily $6M+ (literally, I checked online). They tipped like $8. It was a small order, nearby, and honestly was just excited to have an ex...

“Hand to me, don’t park in driveway.” And they stand at the door and watch you go back forth to your vehicle.

Yep. I am smack dab in the middle between 2 zones: one Richie Rich part of the city and one low income/working class part of the city....give you one guess where I stay most shifts!

On all delivery apps there seems to be a correlation that the "poorer" a place or neighborhood appears, the higher the tip will be, and vice versa. Obviously with a lot of exceptions. Might be due to the lower income folks having worked in service industry before and therefore...

I’m in Portland Oregon and it’s the urban folks that tip. Go outside “Portland Proper” and it’s more rural and definitely republican and it’s always lousy tips! It’s why I refuse most Costco orders. It is very interesting to see how different our experiences are based on the l...

I have had shitty tips from the poor and the rich. It just comes down to people appreciating us for what we do and those thinking we aren't shit.

I'm poor and disabled and don't have a car. My minimum tip is $15, and I go up to $20 when I can, especially if the weather is crap. (Store is ~3 miles away, I usually order ~30 items.)  I also offer bottled water in the summer, and hand warmers in the winter. Instacart is...

You're a quality customer and I hope you get the service you deserve. If not I also hope you don't reward bad behavior, some of us take pride in our work and there's too many that don't, and that reflects poorly on all of us.

I’ve delivered to 15 million dollar houses, and gotten 5$ tips, one time they said (multi million dollar house)they would cash tip on a 200$ burger order and they handed me 10$ lol. I was flabbergasted but this was early in my delivery career. I now know the simple truth, if y...

Honestly I think the richer people think the base pay is way higher. The better tips come from people that know the system because they worked it themselves. I got a $7 tip for an ubereats McDonald’s order that was just around the corner from a gorgeous mansion. Some people su...

Also to add, it’s easier to tip super low if you don’t actually meet the person face to face. In a restaurant or hotel for example, the service person is right there. You can’t feel that comfortable handing a $5 to someone when they are looking you dead in the eyes. Way easy t...

Because rich people pay you what dropping off their orders means to them and so do poor people. Poor people tend to value other people's time more.

People who are in mansions are using Instacart as a choice. People who live in lower income may be using it as a need, due to illness, disability, or lack of transportation. It's the difference between seeing you as a convenience or someone who is really helping them out.

Rich people stay rich because they don't spend money. I've worked with clients who were millionaires that crashed out over being charged $5. Frugal is the way to go if you wanna be rich....
