SSA wins telework arbitration.

SSA won its telework arbitration. How likely that we in fact get to see telework implemented. Are there appeals available to delay restarting telework?

I’m not ssa but if they brought back telework for DOD I’d absolutely sh*t myself. Congrats on the victory.

It’s wild I’m in a building that was remodeled for 200+ people it’s averaging about 27 people a day even though supposedly we’re all back in office. Rough math they are paying about 114k per person per yr to have a desk in this facility. It blows my mind, DoD also.

SEC did too. Nothing changed and the agency appealed, so nothing will change for a long time. And the CBA is up for renewal next year. The chair has made it clear he hates recurring telework. He even had his private sector firm staff coming in during Covid.

I thought HHS asked for an appeal in court? Those appeals can take a year though.

A normal administration would have never let things get here. But the great leader can never accept defeat or error. It is highly unlikely he’ll just turn things on.

SSA can appeal immediately, wasting 30 days, then AFGE has to respond (another 30 days), then it goes to FLRA for 6 to 18 months. The arbitrator just retains jurisdiction, which means if FLRA rules in favor of the unions, and SSA refuses to implement the resolution, that AFGE ...
