I was fired by Starbucks for unionizing after a 10+ year career there. They literally lied and made up a reason to fire me. Initially a judge ruled in my favor and said I was illegally fired, Starbucks ofc appealed that and am now just waiting for it to move through the court ...

The classic "Billionaires will just move if we tax them" argument always falls apart when it's pointed out that they aren't contributing much if they aren't paying taxes anyways. He wasn't doing anything for Seattle's economy.

Wait, so that means they don't have to pay taxes if they LIVE in anothr state? They can run their businesses out of that state and get away with paying taxes? If that's the case, that's abhorrent. It should be a state by state basis. Have a store there, then tax it? I could ...

When half the states are absolute idiots and give massive tax breaks to billionaires, this is what happens. If every state got on the same page and I made them pay Fair taxes, they would either pay it or leave the country. Then good riddance

I love the whole threat that billionaires make of leaving if they are forced to pay taxes, since they dont pay taxes now, them leaving is a net benefit for the rest of us because we are paying taxes that they benefit from.

IMO, states that pass these taxes should find a way to claw back the money owed. The billionaires lived, “earned,” and leeched off the states; they shouldn’t be allowed to walk away from their part of the social contract.
