Another reason not to go to Starbucks.
Least popular person in Seattle finally decides to leave Seattle.
Same guy sold took away the Supersonics because the publicly funded ten year old ‘Key Arena’ was ‘obsolete’. Edit: Ten year old full renovation on public bonds. They never include the infrastructure investments municipalities make too. The government invested a huge pile i...
But where else will I get my overpriced shitty coffee?
Oh no! You mean he's going to not pay taxes somewhere else???
They can't run far if every state begins to follows suit.
This is the point the "anti-tax" crowd seems to miss. They're already not paying taxes, them leaving will be a net gain.
The way rich people continually paint themselves as victims of society is really disgusting.
Why would a state want them? They don’t contribute anything. They undermine our democracy. They undermine the rights of everyone else. I hope the door doesn’t hit him on the way out.
Billionaires are the human form of malignant tumors.
Like truly I wish they would all just leave. I would rather live in a country that is barely scraping by but everyone is trying their best than a country that is barely scraping by while the rich just watch and exacerbate
We need more of the brothers
Should read “Billionaire too cheap to pay his taxes. Thinks middle class should pay his share. “
"Billionaires try to bully states they want to live in because they feel like they deserve respect, which they definitely didn't earn."
>**Schultz Moves The Same Day Democrats Pass Bill** >While the proposed California wealth tax is expected to raise $100 billion from 200 billionaires living in the Golden State, which would be used to fund public schools and food assistance programmes, the Washington bi...
What an absolute selfish coward. Jokes on him though, now he lives in Miami.
> **Starbucks today stands on the ~~shoulders~~ necks of the many Pacific Northwesterners who built the company.** FTFH
Any BILLIONAIRE should absolutely be required to fund the community. Imagine making that much money and not wanting to? Imagine how much less stress and worry would be in the world if billionaires paid their fair share? The amount of corruption boggles my mind. Famine shouldn'...
You're telling me there's now living space for 'many' more people in Seattle, and a retiree has left? Nice to read some good news.
If we get more rich people to leave, maybe it'll finally drive residential prices down too.
If they all move to Florida and Texas then they'll be easy to find during the purge

I like your style.
Unless florida sinks in the ocean
Wait until he gets his property tax bill in FL. And pays for insurance on his waterfront mansion in Palm Beach (or wherever gets to host his lazy ass).
> Wait until he gets his property tax bill in FL. A use tax will never be as effective as an income tax. Yeah, his property taxes will be higher in florida than in washington, but that tends to matter only if you have a normal effective tax rate. The whole thing about pro...
Why do you think the government run by Floridaman is trying to cripple property taxes?
The insurance is the deciding factor. Forget taxes - insurance legitimately doesn't give a shit if you're rich or poor. They believe in climate change and they know that mansion will be flattened every couple of years.
What?!?! You thought he was an ethical billionaire?!?! No such thing!
Nobody thought that about him.
Ok and Starbucks in headquartered in Seattle so let me guess... he's going to take his private plane across country regularly to attend meetings and handle his business? Or he gets to work remote from Florida? Edit: ok I've confused this guy with the current CEO who uses the...
I hope the employees roast him for that. Be nice if during every “town hall” BS meeting everyone tells him they can’t hear him, audio is not working. Need to reschedule in person.
Good riddance!
Go live with the other trash
Bye
I was just in Seattle and they love their coffee up there. There are mom and pop coffee joints on every corner. Granted, so are Starbucks but what I'm saying it there are options.
Either Starbucks has gotten notably worse every year since like 2000 or my tastes have been refined over time. Either way, they continuously have generated reasons to not patronize them for as long as I can remember.
Why anyone drinks that rachet Starbucks slip knowing what the clown is charges does is just beyond me. Just say no kids.
Funnel them to Florida, take out Florida. Got it.
Honestly if it were up to me I’d say just get them all out of the country if they’re just avoiding taxes all together. They contribute nothing and quite frankly ruin everything for everyone else.
We need these type of bills to be nationwide so the ghouls can’t escape them.
Fuck all these people, and fuck Florida for enabling themz
Good riddance
Aww, the poor billionaire
But what about all those jobs he was going to create with his billions! Jobs like Hedge Maze Trimmer and Executive Assistant Assistant!
Hoarding money is a mental disorder.
Can they all move there? Having all the billionaires in one place would be amazing.
Is he a pedophile?
Probably
Make it federal (by passing a nationwide wealth tax)
Step 1: Get all the billionaires into Florida Step 2: ...

Tax increases on the wealthy **and** robber barons leave the state? Hot Dog!
Remember he ran for president? Pepperidge Farm does.
He left. The company didn’t , he did. This selfish tantrum throwing tittie baby left. Good riddance. Good reason not to buy Starbucks.
Imagine a 50% tax on all revenue of all U.S. companies if that revenue isn't stored in U.S. banks...
We’ll miss all the taxes he wasn’t paying anyways
What people don’t understand is that leaving the state doesn’t stop your tax obligations. Tax years are always one year behind and are tied to where your primary residence was for that tax year as well as where your income was coming from. For Howard, even if he moves to Flori...
billionaires have to eat too!
I just dont understand. What on earth can you do with 100 billion that you cant do with 80 billion? Why do they fight so hard to not get taxed money they will NEVER use in this lifetime.
Trash takes itself out.
The new tax bill is because guys like this aren’t paying their fair share anyway, so good riddance
Wait, then who was the Starbucks CEO commuting to the Seattle HQ via private jet?
Howard Shultz is the former CEO I believe. The current one, and the one that has the 2.5 hr commute with the private jet between Seattle and Newport Beach, is Brian Niccol.
Good. If they all move to Florida, one big surprise storm....
What a little bitch. Rich people fleeing over the *outrageous notion* that they might have to pay a thimble of their vast wealth back into the common burser chest to help maintain and dare I say BUILD? The very society that made them able to enjoy that wealth in the first plac...
I hope they go bankrupt. Fuck him and Starbucks
God forbid he pays his fair share for everything he has.
Didn’t people predict this would happen
Remote work for ceos but not workers
How would you remote work into a coffee shop?
Seattlelite here. Howard can GFY
People need to learn how to make good coffee at home instead of giving this jerk $2500 (or more) a year on daily coffee (which sucks by the way).
Remember in the 90s-2000s when Starbucks tried harder to paint themselves as progressive and possessing a corporate conscience?... I have literally never fallen for their ruse. Schultz and his company have always been a wolf in sheep's clothing! Jordan Belfort cosplaying as Be...
Starbucks is moving to Nashville as well if anyone missed it
Let them all go live in some shitty town together. A town full of nothing but billionaire tax evaders. They can privately fund everything. They literally have no right to use our public infrastructure, they leech as much as possible from society and give nothing back in return...
I read they handed out tiny violins downtown yesterday to commemorate the loss of Howard Schultz.
All billionaires are leeches. Good riddance.
I'm kinda glad he and all the other billionaire losers are moving to FL. Let's just cram them all into one location and they can Kansas Experiment it straight into the ground while the rest of us exist in a functioning democracy with reasonable taxation and publicly funded inf...
"moves" to Florida. you mean buys a house and changes his mailing address while keeping his multimillion dollar home in Seattle and living there the majority of the time. this is the same as a corporation doing an inversion and moving their HQ to a p.o. box in then Cayman Isla...
So if we do this everywhere we solve the Billionaire problem? bet....
We should involuntarily move all billionaires to florida, then sink it.
He wasn’t paying taxes anyway. Not a loss
Great. Now ban Starbucks in Washington.
Kind of a knee jerk reaction if I assume you want to put over 600 Washington state stores and their employees out of work. Very kind of you
Seriously, at this point, it seems the only way to make these rich parasites pay up, is to physically wring them, like a dirty old rag...
And boycott his masterclass.
Lol joke is on him if the property tax law gets passed in floriduh because an income tax will be on its heals if it does.
I don’t understand this. Folks like this live off their net worth. They borrow against it. He doesn’t HAVE income to tax so why the vitriol. It’s literally fake outrage by billionaires like him.
Wealth taxes are next. I grew up white, middle class, comfortable and obviously privileged. Bring on the taxes. It's crazy that whether or not you have a chance for a decent life depends on your parents' "generational wealth or generational poverty" status.
With the tax money he won’t be paying, he’ll be able to build an underwater dome to live in for when Florida is swallowed by rising sea levels. Plus, he gets to live with “Florida Man”.
How come when they're in another country they are called oligarchs but when they're in the US, they're called billionaires? Can't we call them what they are? Say what you will about Putin but he handled his problem with the oligarchs.
Most hated man in Seattle finally leaves. More at 11.
All these arrogant rich fuckers keep moving here to Florida and Mother Nature is gonna cook up a Mega Hurricane and lob it at us.
Good riddance - sorry Florida. Don't let the door hit ya... as the saying goes.
Washington elections just got a lot fairer
Conservative's are saying "this is what happens when you tax the rich! FAFO" as if Howard Sch*ltz is some pinnacle of humanity and Seattle has lost their paragon citizen. Nobody gives a single fuck that money sponge has left the general area.
Starbucks is pretty much big tobacco
When did it become policy to suck the teat of billionaires? Seems to me all the states should band together and tax them.
Win-win for Seattle. Florida has no income tax and wouldn’t dare tax a billionaire further, taxes are likely to rise for the average taxpayer in Florida possibly triggering an exodus which would dilute their electorate. Either that or Bugs Bunny will saw Florida from the res...
It’s so important for these people to hoard their wealth and to not help their common neighbours out eh
I don't understand why anyone cares about this at all. How is this not good Seattle and bad for Florida?
Glad to say that I have never purchased anything at Starbucks, so this doesn't affect me. I only go there to use the restroom.
oh no how horrible.
And right wingers will attack this tax saying “the billionaires will leave if you pass it.” They weren’t paying taxes before, so all this dipshit leaving does is open up some property.
This is why we have to tax the land; then if they want to dodge the tax they have to sell. "Okay bye Howard!"
G.O.T. "When the many stop fearing the few..."
It is ridiculous that some states have no income tax. There should be a minimum state income tax, especially since Florida gets hit by a few hurricanes a year and then gets helped out by high tax states.
Jokes on him, Florida sucks
Florida is ass but they deserve that.
Fuck Starbucks. Their coffee is shitty and way overpriced anyways.
He is a mentally ill hoarder.
Isn’t this the guy who forced all the corporate workers back into the office because “WFH bad”? I hope the stockholders call out the hypocrisy.
Starbucks suck and so does Howard Schultz. Starbucks treats its employees like dog doo and Schultz sold the Seattle Sonics. Miami can have him. The closer he lives to the ocean on flat ground the better.
He’s an abuse employer, I haven’t bought a coffee from them for years due to how he acts.
What a piece of shit
Such a pampered little baby, runs away immediately in his private jet like a spoiled brat with his baseball.
Stop. Wait. Come back.
Bye. I'm sure he'll private jet in for meetings like the CEO
Every time there was a riot in Seattle, Portland or Eugene a Starbucks would consistently get it's windows smashed and honestly it's justified
Be gone starboy

G.O.T. "When the many stop fearing the few..."
I wish he'd get pushed out of a plane over the middle of the Pacific
No big loss there, they don’t pay much tax anyways.
I'm actually 110% behind this. Since we are forcing them all into one city, it will be VERY easy to know where to go with the pitchforks and torches!
It's good to hear that California is working to get rid of it's tax freeloaders.
I'm so tired of this class of people.
He was moving before the bill was passed.
Good. One less parasite in Seattle.
Hahahaha. Good luck living in Florida. It’s about to become a shithole the ultra wealthy are there and funding NOTHING while the communities are already struggleing.
Tale as old as time. Company builds itself on the backs of liberals and liberal culture in a liberal state and says "look at us, we're so liberal, inclusive, and trendy" and grows into a national presence, then fucks off to a conservative state the second their taxes go from 2...
Oh he will *love* living in a red state

Fuck him and fuck the wealthy
It’s crazy that these clowns want to just keep everything for themselves. Like how much is enough?
Isn't this the same asshole who mandated RtO while he commuted from Seattle to California in his private jet?
Ah yes, the American dream: get rich so you can dodge taxes
They have no allegiance or connection to their community or country. The only thing the sociopathic billionaires care about is money.
Instead of give back to the state that has given him so much, and an amount so small he world never feel it, he chose to leave and clutch onto wealth near the end of his life. We have always suspected his true nature, now we know.
Good, GTFO and let someone else move in that actually pays taxes. Not like he’s going to pick up and take his 500 (or however many) locations in Seattle. I hope he invests all his money in property right on Miami Beach and in Corpus Christi.
Yet another example of "legal" tax evasion by the wealth.
It’s amazing how allergic these ghouls are to being upstanding members of their communities. You could start a charity that does good for the amount of money you’d be taxed but they really can’t envision themselves doing anything helpful for the people
Trickle down isn’t real, let every billionaire feel the burn.
Good for him. He’ll love the heat I am sure. 🥵🔥☀️
Isn’t the bill retroactive to Jan 1 of this year? So if he just moved he still owes the state money.
Good. They are an economic sink. The economy does well when people spend money, but billionaires hoard money. They simply take money out of circulation and not only that, hoard even more of it as time goes on. ***Billionaires are horrible for local economy, you don’t want them***
Typical Epstein class
Good. Go sink into the ocean with the rest of the state.
Oh well, have fun in Floridistan. Enjoy the shitty water, poison ivy, fire ants, coral snakes, roaches, silverfish, chiggers and religious fundamentalists.
I was fired by Starbucks for unionizing after a 10+ year career there. They literally lied and made up a reason to fire me. Initially a judge ruled in my favor and said I was illegally fired, Starbucks ofc appealed that and am now just waiting for it to move through the court ...
The classic "Billionaires will just move if we tax them" argument always falls apart when it's pointed out that they aren't contributing much if they aren't paying taxes anyways. He wasn't doing anything for Seattle's economy.
Leaving the most beautiful place on earth to live somewhere with no mountains, heat, humidity and hurricanes just to save a very very small percentage of his income on taxes. Stupid!
Good, leave! "wealth-creators" ... hilarious! What a pig-eyed view of the world.
Wait, so that means they don't have to pay taxes if they LIVE in anothr state? They can run their businesses out of that state and get away with paying taxes? If that's the case, that's abhorrent. It should be a state by state basis. Have a store there, then tax it? I could ...
What are all the billionaires gonna do when Florida announced their inevitable rebrand as WaterWorld within the next 10 years?
What they mean is he bought a modest house in Florida and send some mail there
When half the states are absolute idiots and give massive tax breaks to billionaires, this is what happens. If every state got on the same page and I made them pay Fair taxes, they would either pay it or leave the country. Then good riddance
I love the whole threat that billionaires make of leaving if they are forced to pay taxes, since they dont pay taxes now, them leaving is a net benefit for the rest of us because we are paying taxes that they benefit from.
There have been a few high-profile billionaires who have left for Florida. Schultz and Bezos built their companies in Washington. Larry Page built Google in California. Ken Griffin built Citadel in Illinois. Has anyone built a major company in Florida? I can't think of any...
These billionaires weren't paying anything into the system, yet take from the system. They are leeches. So you're actually better off if they all move away.
The city that gave him the environment to be successful, and he leaves it because he's not allowed to leech without giving something back.
If he wasn't paying anything.. it's not like it's a big loss
Parasite self-detaches from host after host takes medicine.
This is great news; next they should go after any additional properties he is hoarding in the state.
Bye.
lol anything but paying taxes. These assholes have been fucking up the WA state tax issue for YEARS….
Screw Starbucks bring back indie coffee houses
Like I needed another reason to never go to Starbucks.
Selfish hoarding pr**k.....
May he enjoy many boiling summers and hurricanes.
So either he stayed and paid no taxes or he leaves and… pays no taxes? What exactly did we lose?
Fuck man.. my states gonna be overrun by these fools
Good
This always happens before regular people are made to pay these taxes. Look at NYC, not only are the regular people facing a massive property tax hike but now they're losing free parking.
Oh stop w the lies. People in NY pay taxes to get services and they have some of the best not like trash bucket red states.
I thought the rich leaving when taxes go up was a fictional thing that doesn't happen? Were reddit leftists lying to me?
If we take pride in our country, we should also take pride in paying our fair share of taxes.
He tried to run for president as a Democrat on an anti- Single Payer healthcare platform. This guy is the worst.
These peopole don t care about the communities they serve
That's why you tax wealth and not income. If you tax their assets and they still live that's the best possible outcome short of actually overthrowing capitalism.
I've said this many times. You work in a cake factory. Someone is in the corner, hoarding all of the cake. You ask them for a tiny piece of cake. They say if you take any of the cake, they're going to leave and sit in the corner of another factory, leaving you with all of the ...
Moments like this show how closely politics, taxation, and personal wealth decisions can intersect.
I hope him, the russian oligarchs and netanyahu's sons all get paralyzed in a jet ski collision
The real estate market around Miami has been nuts for some time, but when all these "tax the rich" bills gained steam, it went nuts
Starbucks is already laying the groundwork to move to Nashville. Sourcing team of 100 positions moving end of year. My guess is by end of 2027; they will have moved additional depts. Nicols, the new CEO will then lease space in Orange County to move the executive team down to ...
IMO, states that pass these taxes should find a way to claw back the money owed. The billionaires lived, “earned,” and leeched off the states; they shouldn’t be allowed to walk away from their part of the social contract.
Have fun paying for Alligator Alcatraz
