Theyre treating soldiers to a proper last meal in case they die

Proper is a stretch.

Yeah, in the Navy, good food is a sign that you're about to be extended. All of these charges for extravagant food people are talking about are actually a symptom of our military being stretched thin.

Its a symptom of sending a military to war. Not that it's stretched at all

9 million on crab legs for the oligarchs no questions asked but no more money and a million questions for the 69 dollars a month we give single moms on SNAP

It was probably all alcohol but he rang it up as food like anyone on a business trip.

Well, now you know why they have no money for children’s school lunches.

If you're asking some dude to get blown up, he should at least get a nice dinner. I don't think I really object to this. But frankly, I'd rather the government buy a billion dollars in crab and buy no bombs.

yeah im seeing this framed as outrage content, but even as much as i disagree whats with going on as a whole, i do believe service members deserve to be treated to good food now and then.

I also don’t think this should be an issue as long as it’s for troops to be deployed. Some good food before they go to war (or deployed to a dangerous country) should be a policy for the military. If you’re killed for your country you’re certainly not coming back for seconds.

So if regular people complain about the EBT and wic abusers spending money on steak and pop and crab legs and whatever else they get shit on and called everything in the book but the other side complains about what the government spends on the food and it's supposed to be some...

And the US Men’s hockey team got McDonald’s…I believe the priorities at this white house are misguided.

For perspective, the DoD spent $108.4 million on lobster over four years from 2017-2020, which averages out to $27.1 million per year. In 2025, the DoW spent $81.5 million on lobster for that year alone. So, while military members have always gotten lobster on some occasions, ...

I thought it was normal to have a lobster and steak or such meal before deployment.

Surf and turf was a regular friday thing when I was in back in the late 00s whether we were over seas or not. Still would prefer that cash went to something more supportive of people in the US along with the 15 billion or whatever.

Sailors get something like $15 a day for food. Maybe the navy spend $13 of that daily. Then splurges for good food with the remainder. Budget is still the exact same each time.

They serve Olympic gold medalists McDonald's and then dine on crab legs, steak, and lobster. They should be eating the McDonald's and paying back the people for all this extravagant looting of taxpayer dollars.
