Is it a requirement that you can only order food if your house doesn't display a house number anywhere? Asking for a buddy
It's my understanding no visible house numbering whatsoever need to be showing. If they do have a house number,on the house,it needs to be behind a tall tree or bush with either a camouflaged or subdued background so you can't see the number. I'm hearing a dark wood background with black numbering is best. The kind of object you won't see with a 20 million flashlight lumens.. Does anybody am aware if that's a requirement in order to utilize the gig platform?

Unreal
Average house that orders Doordash at midnight, turns off their porch light, and lets their aggressive dog loose on the property
And this was one of those huge houses with a long drive.
Every time i keep thinking, y'inz best hope you never need an ambulance because the last thing you want when bleeding out is the paramedics having to door knock every house on the block trying to find the nearly dead person and by that point, you may no longer be able to respo...
I mean its not ideal but the FD and EMTS have gps too prob better than Crapbox. Plus if we can find the spot they can too. I had 5 houses in a row yesterday with 0 numbers...I swear Im about to start carrying my own numbers and offer a service. $20 and your house has a numb...
💯 I think somebody mentioned a few months ago that it's actually a requirement you have some kind of address. I think it's a city ordinance that they have to have something showing that house number
Me too lmao
“Bldg 19, Unit 1901” Okay, the location pin only took me to the entrance, I’ll just follow the building sequence! Shouldn’t be that hard. 17… 18… 20… 21…
So its not just my towns apartments doing that.. or bld 1 will have apt 1 and 2 on first floor 3 and 4 on second, then bld 2 has apt 1 and 3 on first and 2 and 4 on second...
It blows my mind. So many houses where they don’t have the light on, and the address is hidden by a tree or decoration where it seems intentional.
We had 3 feet of snow a couple of weeks ago. Many house numbers were buried under that (mailbox posts, etc). If you are ordering from gig apps, you may want to dig those out...
It's also acceptable to put the house number on a porch column, provided the only illumination is the porch light directly behind that column. For real though, I keep a flashlight in my car console, and I'm not shy about using it to find the house numbers.
I wear a head lamp. Don't play with me. I ain't got time for this.
I do too but it's still difficult to find house numbers though. An acceptable spot for a house number is above the garage, on the curb, or on the porch. Some of these people aren't getting their orders and it's their fault.
5% discount if there's a floodlight mounted 2 inches above the numbers
Not only that, you must turn off all exterior lights and drop your phone in the toilet immediately after making the order. It’s the law.
Open Google maps -> Zoom until addresses are displayed
So, basically do a lot of extra work to make $7
I love it when customers make me guess where they're at. /s
I actually found someone’s picket sign laying down under a fing chair. Only thing showing an address. I retrieve it and hammered it in place for all to see. They had a camera. I’m hoping to see a post on Reddit about a delivery guy setting up their address.
"cancelled. Unable to locate address. No visible numbers"
I of course posted this as an attempt at humor but still. 3 years ago I was cuffed and put in the back of a police car for 45 minutes. I was going up and down this one street with like 40 houses and not a single one of these guys had a visible address.. someone finally calle...
I’m a dasher and I’ve got terrible numbering. I cleared a place for it this week though. The couple times I’ve ordered I left a super good description though lol. Impossible to see in the dark, just bad. I always worry if the dasher didn’t see my instructions ‘cause I hate tha...
Just do what we did. Buy a bright yellow F150. Put it in the directions lol
Shame shame! Lol I have 8 inch numbers right by my porch light and reflective numbers on both sides of my mailbox.
It really feels that way! Honestly why do people not have a house number on their house? Or even, I don’t know, perhaps turn on the porch light? We aren’t psychics and gps can pin wrong!
No house number and no lights.
Broken steps with snow not shoveled
I sense a bit of sarcasm... It's my specialty, you see. Seriously, I used to drive a big brown truck with boxes in it. The address difficulties are REAL.
My autistic @$$ didn’t realize this was sarcasm for a hot minute lol
Growing up, our house backed up to a golf course with a stream separating our backyard and the fairway. We had to have numbers on the front of the house and the back of the house.
No house numbers and no porch lights. It has gotten to the point where I pull up and without thinking, I already know its the house without the porch light on 9/10 times.
Just be sure when you order after dark to leave the lights off on any possible number if it exists.
I believe it's also acceptable to have the number right next to a bright light with no shading, such that it is impossible to see the number at night when the light is on.
And their front porch light has to be burned out.
Lordy..I laughed way to hard

Absolutely it's a requirement. It's actually in the contract at the very bottom under the heading of "No house number, no problem". Simply states that no customer shall place an order on the all mighty Tony platform whom displays a house number. Must not be visable.
