Rich people have a different version of this. Instead of depending on each other to get by, they depend on each other to unlock access. For example, if your kid needs an internship, you call your buddy up to get him one. Then you owe your buddy a favor down the road and help h...
It's why they have exclusive groups growing up - boarding schools and fraternities and what have you. Make your connections with the right sort of people and you're all set for life.
