Hey man, people get attached to cars. I drive an 1981 Toyota Celica. God thing is now 46 years old and STILL the most reliable thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm hoping to live long enough to see the engine finally need to be rebuild so I can put in the performance kit.

If they have video of the hit and run, why not report the driver to the police and go through the other driver's insurance to get it fixed? They hit all the pity bases and I'm surprised that no one has cancer or it's somebody's birthday.

Yes but the insurance company will cancel their policy if they accept a claim payment! Even though they are still paying insurance on the car because it's sitting in an impound lot from getting towed! They don't have money for a big-time, tv-advertising lawyer! Help!!?

It happens a lot. The budget runs out and this side and that side decide they won’t give a dollar to anything for the other side so they both just let it run out and refuse to let any new budget or CR pass. But yeah—the insurance is there to pay for the accident.

Bottom line is they want a new car and they want someone else to pay for it.
Eh seems a bit off. The low millage is the only choosing beggar thing as she doesn’t seem to be choosing anything more asking for help. But wouldn’t insurance take that claim with the other persons. Not sure how it works in the states.

Children with disabilities. Father is in the military, but has been furloughed without pay more than once. Car got totaled. Their life sounds as tragic as a country song.
The worst part of this story is the furlough. The rest just sounds like his life do.
But they always get paid after the shutdown ends. It's not like the money is gone forever.
If you have full coverage they will make you whole.

They wouldn't need a lawyer if there is video evidence, just need to file and go to court.
If, they have full coverage. Rental should be included. If, you put your rental in a CC. Most cover the insurance in a rental. Did they make a police report? If you have it on camera. They can do something. Even in a private lot. Would it not count.as a hit and run?
