Every single other advert being for the glorified ready meal service
Not gonna name it, because I don't would such as to contribute to their marketing, but oh my god I'm so fed up of them. It's literally recently microwave ready meals and they act like they've reinvented food.

There’s about fifteen of these services. At least they’re still better than the “meal kit subscription” ones that say “use your own fresh ingredients” but what they’re actually sending you is 3 microscopic pots of supermarket grade herbs for four quid.
And a more plastic waste in one box then most households create in a few months
Those recipe boxes actually work out pretty much the same or even slightly less than what you'd spend on a weekly food shop. Yes you pay delivery charges, but you're getting a convenience after all. I don't think a single one actually says 'use your own fresh ingredients'. Ev...
I've never understood buying that when pretty much all major supermarket chains in the UK do home delivery. You just pay more for less, there's more plastic packaging and you still have to chop and prepare everything so what's the point?
And they're about six quid each, for two quid supermarket value. Worst than that grabber Bingham.
Those Bigham lasagnes are amazing, but even on offer they're still like a fiver each and the house smells of burnt wood for ages after making one.
I’m not gonna lie, I am one of those suckers who enjoys them. I’m disabled, struggle to cook full meals every day but want to eat reasonably well- having them delivered to my door and being able to just microwave them eliminates a lot of difficulties. I’m on a low carb version...
Honestly mate, no shame in that. If it works for you that's cool, I'm just sick of seeing the same ads over and over.
As someone who is in roughly the same boat, how do they compare to the supermarket ones?
Weird way to talk about gaviscon
Who can afford gaviscon in this economy?!
Pepto bismol is basically my Huel
I tried the Hello one for a bit. Ngl the meals were quite good but I opted out eventually for multiple reasons. And then it took about a year for them to stop fucking calling me every 2 weeks asking if I want to renew.
What meal service are you guys talking about? I have no idea?
It'll be Simmer, Prep Kitchen, or Frive
I find all of these “modern trends” with food painful… these ready meal services but also huel and all that other nonsense that isn’t real food… sorry but making real food really isn’t that hard. You don’t even really need to know how to cook.
If it's an advert to help you do something that normal people find ridiculously easy, then you're not the target audience. It'll be people who can't stand up long enough to cook, or people who can't stomach actual meals, or something like that. Basically, all these food serv...
They all tell you how you're busy and don't have time to cook. I was one of them, I didn't believe I had time either. Turns out I did have time and now I cook at least 4 times a week. It might not be restaurant quality, but at least it's homemade and cheap.
I like Huel, I wouldn’t use it as a full meal replacement but a scoop in my porridge or in place of pointless dessert after dinner I think is good.
No! You don't understand! For £6 a meal! I could get 2 whole meals a day delivered to me a month... So I still need to go to the shops and cook for atleast one of my meals a day anyway, completely negating the "you spend so much time going to the shops" argument. And I don't...
Then the rest are for companies that help you start writing your will.

I tried them for a bit, convenient, but my god they're expensive. And they use all the same ingredients in everything.
This is why I've never bothered. The idea is really tempting, but I guessed they'd just be too expensive for me to continue and I'd miss the convenience.
Just block them, or otherwise mute the volume and avert your eyes. I'm currentlyt 20+ years of zero ads. Your life will be so much calmer for it.
I'd rather an ad that I can block or choose to say "don't show me this again" (which does usually work), than an "influencer" pretending they love something when you know that after they've been paid for their ad they'll never touch again. Refuse to buy anything advertised thi...
Urgh, mine seems to be smelly things. Add this ‘scent booster’ to your wash. Clothes smelling because you don’t dry it outside? Use this stuff that makes it smell like outside! Come home to house smelling like dog and cooked food? Spray this stuff all over the sofa! Can’t smel...
Genuinely don’t know which one you mean because there are so many of them. I use Planthood (never seen them advertise on television) because they’re proper meals, but I see Jane Plan ads constantly. They talk about losing weight and it’s like ‘no shit, that entire meal could ...
Those are meal kits, I'm specifically referring to the ones that literally deliver pre-cooked meals that you microwave/put in the oven. Also, the ads I'm seeing are on YouTube/Instagram, but there's so many of them.
Who is funding them? They are constantly advertising, always have stands in shopping centres, they even buy stalls at craft fairs/markets and they always have people going door to door. Yet despite all that I don't know anyone who actually uses them. It seems like a self des...
Hello! It's so fresh!
Honestly as someone who moved from an Asian country and can cook, it was nice to use it to try different recipes and ingredients that are not common in my home country. So I felt that I got to learn as well. Also it helped with variety and takes the stress off me trying to fig...
What also bugs me is how you know you microwave them but they're advertised on nice white plates and perfectly plated to look appetising. I just want to see Jeff in his 70's smashing in a cottage pie right out of the plastic tray, make it realistic!
We have hellafresh and it was honestly a game changer for us. we both work full time and the nightly "what do you want for dinner. i dunno, spag-bol? hm not feeling it, frozen lasagne? nah too long, pizza? ah lets jsut get a takeaway" every god damn week... it drains you. we ...
The almost boiling brand (you know the one) pisses me off so much. They actively discourage cooking - a joyous thing which can be shared with others whilst being a great creative act. They're starting to remind me of the Suno founder who says that [no-one enjoys making music a...
Block ads. Don't see ads.
How?
But then don't complain when the platform you're seeing them on closes down.

It does baffle me that things like that are so popular. I know the answers are a) Some people DO have money, and b) Some people spend what money they have on these things to enjoy their life, so don't @ me. But really, we're in a cost of living crisis and overpriced subscripti...
