Zero chance I walk into a stranger’s home
I’ve done it a few times. They were older or disabled and unable to carry the food bags/cases of water. They did ask me when I got there. No bossy instructions Like this one.
I only ever did it one time for an elderly and disabled man. He asked me to grab him a diet coke from his fridge too 😅 I'll never do that again though. Luckily he wasn't a weirdo trying to kidnap me.
I have done it with only people that has disabilities, we should understand and support their needs, wheelchair grandpa cant't randomly carry 2 packs of water by himself, and this people are usually kind and ask u nicely
Looks like "leave at door and ring doorbell" to me.
I feel unsafe
Also they're not asking nicely, they're telling you to and yelling it
I have a safe place in the back of my van with candy.
There is a 100% chance that I am not following those instructions.
Your tip will be you'll walk out one kidney lighter
Ooooh, the new miracle weight loss trend! /s
Absolutely not. Don’t ever enter a stranger’s home. Especially if they demand you do it like this. This gives me scam vibes like as soon as you walk in they’re going to try to hurt/kidnap you or try to frame you for a crime or something
Does the suspicious as hell the way they demand it. I would tell the customer they need to contact DoorDash and request a ‘white glove delivery.’ That’s a service thats not cheap and DoorDash will select somebody to give that offer based on certain things; it’s not something a...
Somebody in my city was shot last year accidentally walking into the wrong home. I’m good on that.
Ridiculous - people so paranoid that they'd shoot an unarmed person, yet they leave their doors unlocked 🤦🏼
Someone was shot for walking up to the wrong porch recently.
Laugh as I leave it at the door.
Don't forget to put the cold stuff in the fridge and frozen in the freezer. And sweep that damn dirt you tracked in on your way out.
Oh, and be a sweetheart and move this couch for me real quick. It needs to go upstairs. There's another dollar in it for you.
Nope. Even if they are elderly or disabled. I don’t feel comfortable doing it. Stuff goes on the porch. That’s it. I am female and not risking it
I'm a guy and this and the people who want their orders left at the back door are 100% no. For safety reasons don't ever walk into a stranger's house and always be able to be seen by other people who might look out or drive by. If they want it dropped off inside the house, at ...
I entered a home only once. It was a "hand it to me" lunch order and the delivery note said she's disabled so it may take her a minute to get to the door. When I arrived, the apartment door was wide open and she was sitting just a few feet from the entrance. It was an older la...
Not happening
I'm not trying to get stabbed and eaten
What about just one of the two?
No thanks unless I can make myself a sandwich after the delivery is completed.
This is what the safety concerns tab is all about
Return, entering customer’s residence is a violation of TOS.
Genuinely not happening
Nope. Mark unsafe. Unassigned.
My unpopular position is; 95% of the time I will help people who ask unless im super sketched or their sus…. I’m a grown able bodied man and all these people thinking people are kidnapped religiously in peoples living rooms watch too many movies. If an old lady or elderly man...
Nope, nope, nope. Not walking into a stranger's house.
I mainly do Instacart, but do DD from time to time 99.9% guarantee this is an elderly and/or disabled person.
But why are they so rude and demanding? They could just say- I'm disabled, could you please bring my groceries in the kitchen -:thank you! And without yelling
Yeah even then I will knock and wait and see what my gut tells me though. There have been probably a dozen times I have brought food or groceries inside and most of those it was already INSIDE an adult care home. Sometimes people are creeps though, regardless.
I will not.
You ain’t never catching me ***inside*** a customer’s home. I’ve seen way too many true crime docs to know that some people are bad news bears.
as a skinny weak unarmed woman im absolutely not going inside, i prefer not to get murdered or worse
Doesnt that go against policy?
No
I’ve already done it. Also I’ve had no tip for leaving pizza outside when it’s -2° outside. So whatever
That’s how people get assaulted
It really depends on who answers the door. Frail elder, of course I will. Person with a cast, walker, or some obvious injury, most likely. Honestly, I've never had this request from anyone that didn't fall into one of those categories, but I understand the hesitation.
100% agree. If i deliver groceries and its a frail older person, even if not asked, I will absolutely offer. I dont care if it's not in the description. Im a man. Wouldn't be a kind thing to just leave it. If you're a female or feel unsafe I understand if you won't do it.
I never go into a strangers home. It says leave at the door.
As a disabled wheelchair user this is so unsettling? I understand not being able to bring stuff in yourself, but never would I ask a stranger into my home without any interaction first. Like you're just out here advertising that your door is always unlocked? I get needing supp...
Definitely not doing it. I have done it once or twice, but because they were super old and nice about it. It's called DOORdash, not counterdash
The all caps makes that a double never.
OPEN DOOR ENTER HOUSE PUT ON KITCHEN GO UPSTAIRS GIVE ME A HANDJOB AND CLOSE THE DOOR BEHIND YOU AFTER YOURE DONE! fuck we doing? i put on doorstep ans take a pic and thats it
If they are old and groceries are heavy ill do it and if disabled but other than that the devil is not going to trap me in the house of hell
Do not ever enter a customers home under any circumstances. Your job ends at the front door. Unless you have a very good lawyer.
the only times i have ever done that has been in a retirement facility or one time a young man let me in the doorway of literally the biggest mansion i’d ever seen and i was curious 🤷🏻♀️ generally it’s not a good idea but use your discretion and intuition to decide if it’s ...
Red flag
Nope and nope.
Leave at door. Just like it says.
If you're not 90 or in a wheelchair, fuck that.
I do what they ask🤷🏼♂️ I’ve seen some creepy apartments delivering shopping orders before. Won’t even get into that.
Naaaaaaw. If they leave the door open I'll set them inside without actually going inside but naw, fuck all that lol.
Nah. Ask nicely but you don’t dictate my life.
List of shit I won’t be doing. lol
Oh hellllllll no. They could either blame me for stealing something or jump me
Could be a disabled customer. I've never had one ask me to bring their groceries inside, but it's a common request. Just have to consider them on a case by case basis. Unfortunately you can't see delivery instructions until you accept the offer, so it can put you in an awkwa...
So I also deliver for Amazon flex on occasion, have one lady leave. This note. Met me at the door in lingerie. It was like something from a p****. There was some sort of generic Amazon coffee creamer I was delivering one of those that they leave in the plastic bag. They don't ...
If they want that, they can sign up for Walmarts In Home delivery. Which also happens to be a tip free service. You wouldn’t ask a pizza delivery driver to walk into your house and bring your pizza to the kitchen table, why would you expect a door dash driver to?
I did one shop and deliver order for a lady who had just gotten out of the hospital. She said I could place the items just inside her door and a family member SHOULD come by shortly and put them away for her. My gut said that the should part wasn't going to happen, I marked th...
No thanks I'm not trying to get raped and murdered today.
"KISS ASS, KISS MY ASS AND BALLS"
I can tell this person isn’t even disabled because I’ve been inside people’s homes before and all the time there were old people who couldn’t carry them, disabled or recovering from surgeries and they always let you know and ask nicely. Actually, I’m not even ringing doorbell ...
I have done this exactly once. Old lady who looked like one of the Golden Girls in a rich neighborhood.
I'm coming in and taking off my clothes to get comfortable
If I do all that, we fucking fo show
Lol....this guy knows what life is all about

Hard no I’m not ending up on a cold case podcast of the dasher in the freezer.
I've been asked multiple times to bring stuff inside. I will never enter a home, even if it's a sunroom. There's no reason to take the chance
Personally, I would. But I would understand if you don’t want to. Just do what you’re comfortable with.
Idk id do it if they asked respectfully and said they are disabled or something. They don’t seem to be able to put themselves in shoppers shoes and understand the risks involved with doing this
No f’n way
It depends. I’ve brought deliveries inside for the elderly, but I listen to what I call my bat sense. If I’m getting alerts from that, I’m just leaving it at the door.
Kitchendash? Nah I signed up for DoorDash I will however bring in groceries if I notice they are elderly or disabled when I arrive.
I was told years ago that unless you have specific insurance to not do that. Your liability is not protected by the platform.
If they're old you betcha, most times they tip in cash!
I do it sometimes but I gotta see who’s on the other side first and decide from there. There are 2 regulars I do this for. They are both disabled in some way. One can’t get up at all and the other needs a walker.
Do you want me to put them away too while im at it?
No in general. But if a customer answers the door and they’re clearly elderly or disabled and ask me to do something like that then I’m most likely going to do it.
HELL NO this is the beginning of a Netflix documentary. Do you by any chance light up a room when you walk in? Don’t get murdered!
That's not at the door. Sorry bud
Had one similar..but also had, do not turn lights on or use flashlight. I did have my gun just in case.
I’m not walking into anyone’s house.
I would probably message and ask the reason for needing to enter the home. Based on their answer, I'd either unassign or complete.
Yeah nope mark as unsafe. No way I'm every going inside a customer house. Every
nah you can come to the door and get it
Barring a disabilitythat prevents them from handling it themselves, its not happening
Nope
If it’s a hand to me and customer is visibly handicapped or just elderly and requests this sure. Only happened a couple of times
Oh what a great customer you know what if you ordered food I’m only to deliver not to help you out with it. I’m not going inside your house, put it in the kitchen do you think I live in your house no, if it’s a shop and pay I’ll just leave it outside you have to get it inside ...
I’ve done it once before but because it was an elderly couple who I frequently delivered to and this time around, their daughter wasn’t there to bring them inside. I felt comfortable enough to bring it inside to their kitchen (in from the garage and right away there) so I did....
I do all the time, lots of senior citizens in handicap folks in my area
that's how you get murdered
Absolutely not. And I would call support to get ahead of the 1 star rating they're sure to leave.
It gonna happen
It’s amazing some of y’all even go outside let alone into restaurants to pick up orders. It’s probably just an older or disabled person and the caps is just them being able to see what they type. Some of y’all on here really don’t belong in a customer service type job and shou...
Never in a million fucking years
Nope
I will NEVER go into someone’s house!!!!!!
Leave it on the roof
No!
Me “they want me in their house they asking for a gun in their house”
Depends on the tip. Customer. Home. And time of day
If the tip is good yeah no problem doing it.
"Hey I read the instructions however for driver safety and liability I am not able to bring the groceries inside your house."
i’ve only done this once, she was an old lady living on her own. i think someone ordered her groceries for her because she obviously wasn’t expecting a delivery. i even tried to explain a substitution i made and she was just like “what…?” whether she had dementia or was just...
Not happening unless someone comes to the door in a wheelchair then maybe lol
I’ve done it a few times for elderly people, they rly appreciate it. BUT it was of my own volition and not in the instructions. The all caps and expectation to do so are a bit overboard.
They should be asking you ans its what you are comfortable with is what I say. People getting real crazy with demands.
if they are ederly or disabled and its not too far in, i would do it. but if its a able bodied person, no im leaving everything outside i dont care if you leave a bad review, i will tell doordash that i felt my safety was being compromised 😒
Nope!
Bro wtf 😂
Do not go inside the house
Nope. Leave outside door In front of storm door and then leave some in front of any other doors you find around the home if they open outward Or leave them in random spots around the property like a little scavenger hunt. That's the only response to instructions like this
Usually this is an elderly or handicapped person.of course I'll help.
There is an extra fee they have to pay if they want their order brought inside. Looks like they didn't select that option, and therefore didn't pay the extra fee. Just leaving it at the door.
Max I will do is put it inside their door & let them know that DD Safety policy doesn’t allow us to enter someone’s home…it’s both for our safety & theirs
I have only brought groceries in twice. Both times it was an elderly couple and they gave me cash as a tip
Nooooooooooo!
When my grandma was alive the delivery person would put the groceries away for her. She couldnt walk well and we would make the order for her and talk to the delivery person and ask at least put the groceries on the counter and the milk in the fridge for her then the rest can ...
Nope. Not a chance
As a courier for a large well known delivery company, I see these signs all the time handwritten on doors. I have never once done it.
Too much liability that could go wrong. Leave the groceries at the door, take pictures of the instructions and the order, ring bell, leave.
I would also put the items in the fridge, freezer, and cipboard, and then I would make them dinner.
I'm 6'3" 250lbs, I won't do it.
Don't go into someone's house even if they ask you. That's how they try to sue you or just hurt you.
Imma go ahead and set these right here on the step.
Ive only done it twice. Once for an elderly woman. I guess her caregiver hadn't arrived in time to help. The other was for a man in a wheelchair. You could tell he was paralyzed. I have since not done so because the next time could be my last.
Leave at door. Pic confirmed. On to the next Dash.
I've been asked to do it but they explained that they were disabled and appreciated the help and understood of I wasn't able or comfortable. A rare time when humans are kind compassionate and considerate so I of course reciprocated once I assessed the scene. I am a well traine...
Damn not even a thank you in that all caps note
No, no, and hell no!!
Nope.
That’s it? Might as well ask you to do ther laundry, file their taxes and give them a foot rub
No.
If someone is ACTUALLY disabled and unable to answer a door and must have assistance bringing in groceries, DoorDash Should have special verified accounts for them so dashers know it’s legit and safe(r). I understand people shouldn’t have to notify others or DD of their healt...
absolutely not. for your safety and theirs.
Nope.
Ring doorbell *and leave groceries at door*. Got it. You want “premium service”, you gotta pay a “premium price” and what you paid ain’t it. Add a couple of zeros after those numbers you did pay me and we can talk.
Hell no! I don't go into stranger's homes. Besides the whole safety issue, there are liability issues, as well. Say you go in the home and place the groceries on the counter and accidentally bump a salt and pepper shaker off the table and break it. That shaker goes from a Doll...
Fuck off.
NOPE!

Tbh, I would hope this is also against doordash’s policy for drivers?! So unsafe. Nope nope nope!
Nooooway
Might be disabled/elderly. I’ve taken many food orders into homes for people as a girl at 22 years old at the time, you meet them at the door and can scope out if they’re weird or not. Also did meals on wheels and would bring food in for people
Nope. I do not go into anyone's home for a delivery. Period.
Depends on the customer, but why does it say leave it at the door? Also, I deliver to a disabled lady and it smells like she doesn't always make it to the restroom, so there's always that too.
Eh I do it all the time where I live but I live in a pretty safe town not too much happens here
absolutely not
My thoughts are “so how much do you want to get robbed, attacked, and possibly killed tonight? If your answer is “a lot, I love when those things happen to me”, then go in the house On the flip side, to well-meaning customers, do not tell a stranger to come into your house.
A few years ago I had a broken leg. I ordered my groceries and each time the same young man brought them into my house for me. I was so thankful!
Uh absolutely not. That’s not your job.
No unless you come to the door and are disabled or old. I’m a able bodied young man though and know if not too
No. You are a delivery driver, not a housekeeper. I had a guy pull a gun on me when I pulled into his driveway (he somehow “forgot” he ordered food). Enter a strangers home, especially a state with a castle doctrine??? F*ck that!
Thats how you end up in a crime documentary. F no. Report unsafe, if lucky free groceries.
Nope. 👎🏽
Only if they're tipping REALLY good and I've got my pew pew on me
No way in hell. Just leave it at the door, take a pic, and leave.
I won't do it for free
No.
Literally says “leave it at my door.”
NOo!...STAY OUTSIDE.....they can say anything.. robbery...anything.....stop trusting people..its 2026...
Umm no you will wait for someone to answer the door
AND GIVE ME ALL THE MONEY IN YOUR WALLET 🤣
If they’re really old or disabled I’d consider it
When I had. A job at a pizza resturant, I would have felt so uncomfortable doing this. Only time I would do it was for old women. Absolutely not doing it for $1.45 on door dash
Only way I do anything even remotely like this is if the person is disabled.
No way. Especially with the demand.
I always just ask them to hand my food to me that way I can surprise them with the cash tip I give on top of what I tipped in the app!! Ya’ll are already out there doing what I don’t want to do either because I’m sick or can’t drive and as a server I know how most are with tip...
Id only do it if they were old or disabled
For me OP, I’ll conduct a normal no-contact order & block this dum-dum customer as I don’t like to go inside any residence for any reason 🚫🚫
I've had orders where the Doordash company instructions tell me to go in inside and set it up.
its a leave at door, i place it at the door, take the pic and then ring doorbell, as they asked for it to be rung , and walk back to car as im hitting delivery completed .
The only time I willingly help someone with groceries inside their house i was stucked there for hours cause this older lady was talking about her kids.
I've done it for elderly ladies who asked me verbally I would never do this if they opened the door and it was a capable adult.
Nope. Never going to do it. Some of my spark customers ask me to do this as well and I tell them I'm not allowed by law.
Sounds like they want to abduct you and make you a sex slave. Put unsafe delivery.
Call or text them on your way, asking for clarification
Nope, I don’t wanna die.
Easy Nope from me. I'll leave it at the front porch and call support on my way to the next delivery
Only done it once and she was an elderly woman in a walker that JUST got out of the hospital. Kitchen counter was a straight line from the front door. Gave someone my location/address in case I didn’t message back with 5-10 minutes, and everything went well
How much is the tip?
if theyre demanding like that, absolutely not. i have helped a few disabled people put groceries in their houses/apartments and theyre always extremely appreciative about it, not to mention they often tip well. but they always ask politely and dont expect it from me. this is n...
99% of the time. No
No no no no. It doesn’t matter. I was delivering an alcohol order, older woman maybe 70, asked me to step in while she found her ID. Realized she was intoxicated. Made homophobic comments to me and also kept grabbing my arm and not letting go and not letting me leave. Had her ...
i’ve brought groceries in before but i also carry. most of the people that ask this are older. some of my favorite customers id do almost anything for but i cant say ive had one out right say “you will be entering my home”

Nope
Hell nah
might as well start cooking next
my answer is no
Nope
