I don't pick up unknown callers anymore

Does anyone else feel hesitant to pick up calls from numbers they don't know? I've discovered myself feeling almost anxious about answering my phone anymore. I'm aware I might miss some significant ones, but 99% of them are spam, telemarketers, or ISP pushers My reasoning is essentially, if they're not in my contacts it's getting ignored. If it's crucial, they'll leave a voicemail. I don't know. I'm not doing well these days, so perhaps it's simply me..
