Hard to keep coming to work when you can’t afford gas to do it.
I don't blame anyone staying home but this timing is wild since it's my first trip in a couple years and I don't know if I'll get somehow stranded coming or going with this happening right now.
Meanwhile we spend $2 billion bombing Iran daily.

Imagine if we didn’t still have the fake security theater put in place after 9/11 and people could just walk into the airport like normal human beings instead of having minimum wage Federal employees scream at them about taking off their shoes.
Or scream at them because they did take their shoes off but "you don't have to". This can change if the airport is in a hurry and backed up too.

You know they actually catch stuff right? But they’re not going to just blast it on the news. It’ll crash the economy. Well… way worse than it is already

My favorite part is how all the "dangerous" items get thrown into a trash can, in the most densely packed area of the airport. Make it make sense...
No dangerous items get thrown in the trash lol. That would be dumb. They’re dropped into a locked metal bin that’s attached to their supervisors podium. Only the tsa warehouse people have a key. Not anyone on the floor. So if you have a knife or something dropped, that’s it.

If this is how we finally get rid of TSA, that would be quite something.
If TSA goes ICE or CBP steps in.
They will privatize and have yet another company taking tax dollars.

Shutdown the TSA and DHS. The states should hire them. Recover all the funding on the federal level and pass it back to the states.
Basically they have been completely abandoned by a system that is completely indifferent to their needs

That was the last shutdown in October/November. This happens several times a year and never makes me regret leaving my job in the federal government.
Why aren’t they getting paid? What’s going on?
