Can some detail my automobile for free?
This person post about once a month in my local pick up nothing group asking for long lists of matters they must have. This is the most recent post and to be candid one of the smaller lists.

Does buy nothing now mean giveaway free labor?! I had to delete all the groups I was in cause it was all begging posts and the occasional "please take this couch"
We occasionally get the free labor requests in mine too, but it’s more along the lines of “broke my leg / home with COVID / xyz temporarily immobile reason, can someone pick something up for me / help with abc errand” type requests.
I was just about to ask that... I was under the impression that Buy Nothing was largely about repurposing material goods to avoid unnecessary waste. But nowadays I'm hearing about people using the groups to beg for someone to buy them free takeout dinners, and now apparently ...
I live on a golf course, and the thing that struck me, was the asking for golf clubs. Do they not know how expensive those things are?
The requests for labor annoy me the most. It’s one thing if someone needs an item they can’t afford…but asking someone to do free work is absurd.
But seriously… golf clubs… gloves for your working SON? It’s just too much! The audacity!!!!

I said that in another comment....so is she volunteering her construction son to do handyman projects in exchange for the driveway she needs done??? Or is it just volunteer YOUR labor, my son gets paid for his?? These people are ridiculous!!!

If her son does construction and is so active he wants to golf, play baseball, shoot hoops, etc., why doesn’t he trim the bushes, fix her driveway, help with landscaping around her yard?
And he can't buy gloves? Work gloves and golf clubs sound like someone's trying to source upcoming Father's Day gifts.

Oh, if you have targets, I'm SURE they'll ask for ammo. I've seen people in these groups start by asking for certain generic things; they catch a sucker on the line, then start adding extra stuff that goes along with the generic items.
It’s a buy nothing group. Things don’t need to be needs. It’s just a place to ask for stuff if people are getting rid of stuff. The services thing shouldn’t be allowed.

Perhaps they could offer some exposure in trade. You bring the tools and materials plus do the work, they post how you did and get you more work. Sounds like a win-win to me! (They win twice)

A lot. I use a local bike shop to repair my kids' bikes, so I get to see the bike people and what they pay for bikes.
