Hospital drama used to showcase clinical work with personal elements. Recently it's turned into entertainment drama that simply features a healthcare setting

The spouse and I previously enjoyed this series, she continues because it's a comfort show, however the standard has declined significantly. The updated personalities are considerably more theatrical and feels like they want us to be invested in them over the medical cases. The earlier personalities made us invested in them, it centered on clinical work and cases at the start and eventually we got their individual stories and it simply made us invested further. Genuinely I believe the series should have finished when a main character passed, perhaps even before.
